Hey everyone , hope you are all having a great day im new to this group so kindly excuse me if i make any mistakes , i recently got myself a Mercedes C180 BE 2012 (M271) its the base model (doesnt have a sunroof or xenon headlights) its a GCC Spec vehicle (UAE) previously i had an Canadian Spec Mercedes C300 with the M272 , i noticed it doesnt have ambient lights like the one on the doors but what im really confused about is the ac roller vents lights, is that not a standard option on the mercedes or is it that due to a blown fuse or maybe the bulbs have went out? Its not on working on any vent (driver , middle or passenger) Would appreciate your help on this.

It should be standard on all of them. I look up replacement parts and the ones I come across all seem to have the harness and wires going to the closers for lights. I have no idea if they are on a separate fuse. Have you played with the light adjustment knob near the steering wheel to turn the lighting all the way up? Ill see if i can research a little more. Can always try and pull out one of the vents and check, if there is a wire harness connect a multimeter and check for power.
I did try that but it doesn't seem to bring those lights on i will try pulling it out to see if it does have those harnesses or if they are disconnected and will update you
Unlikely that all vent roller lights would fail together. My U.S. model 2013 C250 Luxury Premium 1 (W204 M271) had lights there. Mercedes specs vary by model and country. That level of detail may not even be shown on the data card. Possibly the local dealership would volunteer that information.
From my limited research on this matter I think the 12v outlet down by the ash tray compartment is on the same circuit as the vent illumination. Check to see if that light down there is working. Check to see if the 12v outlet has power. Also the PRND lights should illuminate. I dont think theres a separate fuse just for the vents, could be wrong.
Or, your vents may not illuminate from the factory. I would be very surprised if they did not.
Looks easy enough to pull out a vent and check to see if it has the wires and lights. I found a DIY for an earlier W204 on Pelican parts, should be similar for your model.
Was wondering have you checked the vents in the back seats, the vents at the back of the front middle armrest? I was cleaning my car earlier and noticed them, mine works, but all mine are lighting up.
