Things to look out for in a C220 2010
I am looking at buying a used 2010 (or slightly later) C220 for my next car - I want something refined, comfortable on the road, economical but with some power, and a couple of mod cons like bluetooth to play music.
What are some things I should look out for? I've bought a few cars before but only cheaper ones, I'm looking to spend around £4500.
Obviously I will be looking for full service history, no knocks or bangs, every electrical item working as it should, and to get a good 'feel' from the seller.
My current car is a Skoda Fabia, which has cost me £4000 in maintenance over two and a half years, and needs another £500 spending on an A/C condenser. It has a rough ride and is getting on in years with some rust starting to show. I know Mercedes are 'known' to be reliable, although so are Skodas, and I have seen a couple of Mercs in my price range which have had new gearboxes (!!) which isn't something I want to happen to me
Anything you can think of which I should look out for (common faults etc) would be really appreciated!
I am in the UK, if this is pertinent
Kinda pricey in the UK, but not if it keeps you from buying a headache. And it will scan most brands of cars, so if you look at another brand, you can still use it.
