Question Front Right SRS Intermittent Warning - Unplugging Yellow SRS Connector Under Seat?

Hey everyone,

Been having this small issue since March, not a huge deal really if I'm the only one driving, so I've ignored it. But if there is a passenger in the passenger seat, often times, I will get a dash warning for the front right SRS. This popped up out of nowhere a few weeks after getting the car (used), but I know the airbags still work because the light in the middle of the center air vents does not light up to indicate the airbags are disabled, whenever I have a passenger that is.

I suspect that it's a simple connection problem from the seat position being moved around. I'm thinking of unplugging the main yellow connector under the seat and plugging it back in to ensure a tight connection. Would I need to disconnect the battery first before doing this? Or is unplugging while the car is off enough?

Would appreciate any advice, thanks!

This may help answer your question. While the problem in the video is for the driver's side, it seems that it would apply to the passenger's side, as well.

If you unplug any SRS component with the battery(s) connected you will get an error that can only be reset with a codereader.
