I started having this problem earlier today, I have no idea why it’s like this, but earlier today I braked really hard after being break, checked, and also took my car to the car wash today, nothing really was happening then, but when I was leaving work later this night I noticed that my rear third brake light and rear brake lights will not turn off, and I have no idea why, they turn off when I turn off the car, but when I turn the car on, they immediately go back on, I have no idea what could be causing this, but it’s a 2008, Mercedes C300 , no check engine, light or anything, no messages saying “check upper brake light”

Check the brake light switch behind the brake pedal. When you press the pedal, it pushes a plunger on the brake switch, which then illuminates the brake lights. This plunger may be stuck in the depressed position as a result of your emergency braking.
