Needhelp!

Ok so I was working on a 2008 c300 that would move through all gears but not engage transmission. Took shifter out and see it was not connected to rod. Connect to rod and put everything back together and now it won’t shift out of park unless I manually do with by pressing yellow piece. All connectors are plugged in. I don’t hear the brake click, the lights no longer display the gear at the shifter and for some reason the wipers not headlights don’t come on. Not sure if they are related or not. Any help is much appreciated. I was helping my mechanic friend and I hope didn’t mess up one of his customers car. 😔

Your car is a W204. No idea what the yellow piece is that you're talking about.

has this been resolved? i have the same issue but my headlights, stereo, window functions and all the lighting will also shut off only when pushing the breaks…
