Battery Removal Question

I’m in the process of replacing my battery but can’t get the positive terminal bolt to unscrew no matter how much force I use. I’m thinking it’s the pyrofuse(rectangular object by the terminal) that’s preventing me from disconnecting. Also I unscrewed the negative terminal bolt with ease which leads me to assume that a stubborn bolt isn’t the issue.

If the pyrofuse is the problem how do I go about removing it without causing any issues?

Do you mean you cant get the nut all the way off? On mine the nut does not come off, it only unscrews a certain amount then you have to just pull the terminal up.

I remember this because when I was installing my battery charger cable harness I couldnt remove the nut to fit the o-ring type connector on, I ended up having to use a spade connector and slide it under the nut instead.

And im assuming that nut on the top has to be removed first.

That top nut was the one that I couldn’t unscrew. I assumed the wires and metal box surrounding the terminal was what’s keeping it stuck. I’ll try your space connector method next.

Mine doesnt have that top nut. That nut should unscrew, maybe its just on really tight. I found some photos online of what you have and the threads look normal, not reverse thread. Use a bigger wrench maybe.

I was looking around for more photos to see exactly what it looks like since ive never seen it before. Seems the bottom is just a type of clamp that pulls the battery post terminal closer together when you tighten the nut. That nut should just spin right off.
