Fuel lines from fuel filter, mice issue -HELP

Had some issue with mice chewing through fuel hoses and had them sorted at an Indy, nearly £600 and less than 2 weeks later same again. So car turns over but won’t fire due to low fuel pressure. I can see fuel squirting out by the base of the fuel filter holder, so it’s the hose that dips down between the fuel filter and the back of the EGR cooler, ie the braided one in the picture. I can’t see where it goes so removed the black vacuum box and started removing the EGR cooler but 2 of the bolts are impossible to get access to. Anyone know where this hose goes and how I get the 2 impossible studs out? I removed the underbelly engine and transmission trays so can now look from underneath but only working on the drive so it ain’t easy and after looking doesn’t appear to help. I’m putting stainless braided hose

on but my Indy won’t fit them and I can’t afford £600 and the hassle every few weeks. Any help much appreciated. I can see the hose clip about 5” down but how I get access, no idea. Will removing the EGR cooler allow me access or do I need to remove the (bypass valve?). 2010 W204 C250 estate. PS I’ve got 7 mice since (traps in front of and behind tyres and poison traps inside the tyres under the car) but we’ve got another W205 estate C250, 2017 which the same has happened to so I’ll need to do that one too. First post so sorry the picture is in the middle of the post.
