Tire pressure warnings

We just got our 2012 C300 4Matic Sport out of the body shop for extensive mostly under body damage from running over a deer.
I’ve been getting daily messages since then on tire pressure warning, although all tires read correctly with the correct size tires.
I had to take in to a shop for an alignment check and asked them to check this. When I picked up the car I was informed that Mercedes does not use tps valve and uses ride height to monitor? Is there a sensor somewhere that could have been damaged? I also checked my spare rims that I’ve used on my z09 C63, and the tires are removed, there are no tip sensors or valves, also on my 12 GLK350. Same thing Thanks

That surprises me. Every Mercedes we have had since 2003 has had a TPMS monitor. But info in the owner’s manual makes it clear that they do offer cars using tire rotation as a surrogate for TPMS. That works by comparing the tire rotation speed from the ABS system at each wheel. It may also compare expected wheel speed to engine speed. If there is a mismatch, a warning is generated. It uses the wheel reluctor rings and the ABS sensors at each wheel. You could have damaged or disconnected an ABS sensor hitting the deer. I would suggest scanning the car with a scanner that can read detailed data from the ABS wheel speed sensors.

In the US, all 2008 and later model cars must have TPMS, though I am not sure if it has to be with valve stem sensors, etc.

The tire pressure monitor control unit (N88) is in the trunk, so it is doubtful that got damaged. Can you provide more info on the damage? Running over a deer is not insignificant.

You can check if your car is equipped with TPMS by running your VIN through www.lastvin.com and look for option code 475.

If the mechanic is right and your car uses something else, there could be sensors under the car that were damaged.

So everything checks okay mechanically and electronically. But you’re still getting the tire pressure warning. Some input to the ECU has to be triggering that warning. I’m sure you have done this, but are you certain that all of your tires are at the correct pressure according to the label on the fuel filler door? Beyond that, I am out of suggestions.

BTW-My 2013 C250 definitely had wheel sensors. I know because we damaged 2 wheels on road debris, had to get new ones, and used the old sensors. The EPC lists 000-905-72-00 as the replacement for most Mercedes models. Your location says Canada, so maybe MBCA cars are built to slightly different specs than MBUSA cars.

When the error occurs, do you press mark? Script? pressure? Are all the wheels affected?

Maybe check fuse # 70 in the trunk which is for the tire pressure monitor. 477 doesn't have the sensors in the wheels so I'm not sure if fuse 70 is the same for both systems.

unfortunately my system does Not tell you anything about individual tries. Now I don’t know if this is and issue, but we have new X ice Michelins with studs installed recently, it started after this, but not right away.

I would look in your Operators Manual and see what it says about tires. I read theres a different setting for run flats, so maybe the studded tires are causing an error.

If you can't see the tire pressure, you don't have TPMS as such.
It is the esp in charge of calculating differences between the treads.
and your tires are most likely the problem.
well...your tires are not the problem, the system is.
I had to eradicate it and put the option with sensors, because with aggressive driving it always gave false positives.
