Delay in Gearbox Engagement

I have started to experience a slight issue with my automatic gearbox engagement. If I slow down for instance in drive mode, then start to accelerate there is a delay and then a sudden engagement and thrust.

I have had a recent transmission service done at Mercedes.

Your thoughts to the problem and any ideas how to resolve the issue would be appreciated.

Does this happen all the time or occasionally? How long ago was the transmission service?

What do you mean by "drive mode"? Is that C or E, and not S?

Is the engine hesitating or the trans? Does it feel like the trans drops a gear then goes?

When was the last time the engine had a tune up?

I would start by scanning the car and check for any codes/faults.

You can try resetting the transmission. i read it can make the car relearn your driving habits. I have personally never done it. : https://www.mercedesmedic.com/reset-...-instructions/

Looks pretty simple to do:

- Turn the key to ON. Do NOT start the car.

- Press gas pedal to the floor for at least 10 seconds.

- After at least 10 seconds turn key to off position. Gas pedal still pressed to floor.

- Release gas pedal. Wait a few minutes.

- Drive the car.

Transmission learned values can also be reset using XENTRY. That is not the same as the process to teach-in, which is a bit complicated, but rather it resets the transmission to factory settings. I did it once on my 2004 SL500 with a 1st generation 7G and shifting was rough for a short while, but smoothed out after driving a bit.

I do not know if this can only be done with XENTRY. I have not looked if LAUNCH can do it.

Hi, this issue seems to happen to my 2013 C250 as well, and I also get a P0705 code when I use my scanner. The car feels sluggish or even jumpy getting up to speed from 0-35 mph, and when slowing down, it feels like you're being pulled back from the transmission dropping a gear and continuing. Slowing down and then accelerating within a short moment also causes a delay in shifting. My car has 99k miles, so it may be a case of a transmission service being much overdue. The code points to a TCM range sensor issue, but hopefully it's nothing too serious.
