C350 Coupe Fuel Vapor (Evap) Canister

So I've been noticing a smell of gas coming from my car in the last couple weeks, checked for leaks and have not noticed any. 2012 C350 Coupe, M276 engine. From research I've done, seems to be a an evap canister or fuel pump issue. Symptoms are; smell of gas outside car on the drivers side, strong around rear wheel, no smell inside unless I have the windows down, gets worst with harder driving, maybe a slight loss of gas mileage, no check engine lights. Also does not smell if the car has been sitting for a while. I'm almost certain its the canister, as I was slightly hit on that left side a few weeks ago. Just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue, is it in that rear driver wheel well, and how urgently it needs to be replaced?

If it is leaking gasoline, ask yourself if your life insurance is paid up.

What do you mean, "slightly hit"? Do you plan on repairing the car?

if it were me I would scan the car with a Mercedes specific OBD scanner. To check the gas smell i would remove the wheel well liner and inspect the canister which i believe is on the drivers side. Take the car for a drive then jack up that side, remove the wheel and pop out the plastic fender rivets. Pull the liner out and check for gas leaks. Its a pretty easy job. Theres push pin plastic rivets along the outer edge of the line and 10mm plastic nuts holding the inside liner in place.

UPDATE: After further investigation it was the fuel pump, the common issue with Mercs.
