Wayward handling all sorted

My Son called complaining of wayward handling on his 2011 C Class.
Sure enough, when the brakes were applied, it felt like the car had developed its own rear wheel steering.
I got it up on the ramp and was shocked to see that the stabilizer arm connection point of the subframe had corroded away and had completely ripped out on the near side. Not a scrap of rust or rot anywhere else on the car!
Initially, I thought it to be beyond economic repair but decided to peruse the forums for advice and am I glad I did.
I decided to drive the car carefully to the Merc dealer who supplied it.
They tentatively acknowledged this to be a known issue and would advise me as soon as they had a chance to inspect and get Mercedes approval to replace the subframe. (No dealer service history since 2016)
4 working days later, it is back on the road with a new subframe. All done under warranty. Only cost me £90 for sundry parts and the dealer kept me updated every day.

Gobsmacked but grateful
