Headlight bulbs keep fusing
I drive a 2009 W204 C200K.
For the last 3 years every 6 to 12 months my car's headlight bulbs keep fusing.
I replace the bulbs with top rated bulbs, but then it fuses again.
When the car went in for a service, I asked them to replace the parking bulbs and I asked why this is happening every few months.
I think they said they cannot replace the parking bulbs. MB advised that to resolve the problem I need to replace the entire headlight cluster.
I am still not sure what causes the problem, but I am at the point of purchasing the replacement units.
The original equipment is extremely expensive. So I am opting for a generic unit.
Does anyone have experience with this issue and were you advised to do the same? Did you buy generic or original parts?

Which bulbs, be specific, more than one bulb at a time?
The parking bulbs, do you mean the two bulbs at the very top of the headlight, the eyebrow lights some call it? They are replaceable but it is a pain. I believe I used a set of needle nose pliers to reach in and remove the bulb/bulb holder. Those bulbs are specific blue looking bulbs and a bit expensive, i just used equivalent regular clear halogen replacements which are the same as the rear side marker bulbs. They give off a slightly brighter more yellow look but I dont care.
The various bulbs are pretty inexpensive, I bought bulk 10 packs of each bulb from an online electrical store. Just make sure to buy the LL/Long Life bulbs. The Osram bulbs are cheap too.
My W204 has regular halogen H7 high/low beam bulbs and I couldnt see at night, i installed an aftermarket HID kit and see much better and ive had no issues the past 4yrs.
