Spec D Headlight upgrade question
Dear C-Class owners:
I have a 2010 Mercedes C300 W204 4-Matic and I am interested in installing the Specs-D Tuning glossy black headlights to give it a more facelift and modern look. According to Spec-D Tuning, the bulbs that come with the headlights are:
H9 12v/65w hi beam / H11 12v/55w low beam bulbs
Since the high beams and low beams (to my knowledge) calm as halogen lights, I am interested in changing out those halogens for HID or LEDs.
Since I have an HID kit on my car right now for the standard bulb size for my car (H7) I was wondering if you guys know of examples of low beams or high beams that will work with these headlights (Being H9 and H11 my HID kit won’t fit) so I can install those before installing the new headlight?
thank you so much, and if anybody here knows of a thread that already has this information it would be super helpful!

You should be able to use your hid ballasts with those new headlights, just have to buy the new bulbs which will come with the correct harness to connect to the headlight. The connectors on the ballasts are generic. The only thing different will be the connector coming from the headlight and then the base of the bulb fitting into the headlight.

if i remember correctly the ballasts are universal. The connectors #1 and #2 in the ballast diagram below are universal, connector #2 are 9006 females. The only thing specific to a vehicle are the bulb bases #3 and connector #4 that connects to the cars factory harness.
Replacement bulbs should come with the bulb and also the harness with the specific connector for connecting to the car, the other end is just a 9006 male connector. If the bulb doesnt come with the 2nd cable, connectors #2 and #4, it can be bought, yours would be an H9/H11 female to 9006 male adapter. H9 and H11 connectors are the same.
It looks like H11-B hid bulbs are the same as H9 bulbs. The "B" is the orientation of the wire along side the glass. When I first installed an HID kit in my W204 there was a dark shadow cast in the road ahead, after some research it looks like the wire was causing the shadow, I then bought Morimoto H7-B bulbs and the shadows went away. Though I have no idea which one, A or B, will work best in the spec d housings.
