Jetta Red is correct, that isn't an approved oil. But, I am running LiquiMoly MOLYGEN 5w-40. I switched from Mobil1 0w-40.
New Generation MOLYGEN meets the MB 229.5 spec but isn't on the approved oil list. I have not had any issues and it actually lowered my overall engine noise.
I highly recommend the LiquiMoly MOLYGEN 5w-40.

I've always done the "6.9 quarts" both my C400 manuals call for, always puts me close to the max line.

Assuming your country MY (Malaysia) in your profile is correct, you probably have consistently warm weather, so the 10W viscosity should not be an issue. If you can find the sufficient ZDDP level in a 10W-40 oil locally, it probably would not hurt to use it. Possibly Petronas, who teams with Mercedes in F1 racing, would have something.
Racing oils all have even higher levels of ZDDP, however, more than 1000 ppm can harm catalytic converters. Racing oils also have much higher viscosity, e.g. 15W-50 or 10W-60, making them generally unsuitable for road car use.
I hope this shines some light on a complex issue.
