LEFT DIPPED BEAM

Hi, apologies if this has been answered before many times but i've searched but can't find the answer... i've got 2008 C320cdi and out of nowhere got a LEFT DIPPED BEAM error on the dash. i did have a bit of knock (to the back of a van) on the left side about a month ago but it's been working fine ever since. i've checked the bulb on the good side and that works fine, checked fuses, all fine. full beam works, fog lights work so do the sidelights. i have no idea what's going on. please help.
thanks

dash error

Did you try swapping the bulbs, put the right side bulb in the left?

Either scan the car with a Mercedes specific obd reader, or get out the multimeter and start tracing the wires back. How much voltage is the light bulb connector getting with the lights on? Is there an open ground?

Could be something simple like a frayed wire, or something more serious like ecu.

the multimeter is my next port of call mate and we'll go from there. didn't know if it was a common issue with an easy fix or not...
