Tinting headings and taillights

Hi all I'm back with another question. I've been thinking of tinting or blackout my headlights and taillights. Was wanting feedback if anyone has done this and what they used plus their experience with the method and it's longevity. Meaning does it fade after years in the sun or after multiple car washes things like this. Basically any positive or negative experiences with the process and what process seems to be the best?
Thank you all in advance

Hi @RobertR728 - I would not suggest tinting your headlights as you will lose headlight projection. Tinting tail lights is illegal in some states but to each their own. I personally don’t like tinted headlights/tail lights for my vehicles.

yes, it looks good (sometimes) but it’s pretty pointless if you ask me. You’re better off changing the whole headlight housing to a design you like. Thats the best thing to do if you’re looking to change looks/headlights.

Thats my 2 cents

Darkened or blackened headlights and taillights may be available aftermarket. I know my 2004 Audi TT 225 came with them from the factory, but I have not seen them on Mercedes. But the lens on the TT were never darkened, only the inside.

I understand what you guys mean about losing headlight projection that makes sense. My car is mostly red and black now so I thought I might give it a try however what I find on the web everything seems to be permanent and I'm not sure I wanna go that route cuz I might not like it.

Thanks fort y'all's input

They sell pre-cut headlight and tail light tint kits. Im sure it will reduce the amount of light cast on the road, I dont know by how much. Just search for Mercedes Headlight Tint. I believe it is different from regular window tints since it is made to be installed on the outside of the car.
