c300 code p0422 intermittent
the efficiency of left catalytic converter is insufficient (function chain) (p0422)
it shows up for few days or a week and then disappears again for a while.
i only owned this car for about 8 months
it show up twice and go away on its own.
what the hell is the function chain anyway? does that fueling ignition or oil leak problem from left side engine?
no other codes just this one.

"function Chain" is about all the component chained...for assuring the function of the efficiency...from Air Mass sensor from where the air containing Oxygen entering in the Intake manifold, going to the engine chamber, spark plugs, exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter that has the Oxygen sensor for monitoring how much Oxygen came into the engine and how much remain after the burn...
Most of the times, from where you see oil leak, the unmeasured Oxygen will be sucked inside this chain.
