Abs and traction control lights are on

What should I do ? I replaced the front driver side ABS sensor . Should I replace the passenger front side sensor? Or should I take it to the shop??! I really don’t want to but I keep seeing other methods on how to fix it , but I’m not sure if it’s the right way . I don’t want to make it even more worse . I have a 2011 Mercedes C300 4matic sport

You need to have a diagnostic carried out to identify the actual problem, otherwise you are just wasting time & money.

I recommend getting a Mercedes specific scanner just in general. Take it a shop as a last resort, especially if we are talking taking it to a Mercedes dealer at over $200/hr.

I'm always searching Amazon for deals and they have some on scanners. I see they have the Launch Creader 2.0 for $151, I think thats what others recommend.

I have a Foxwell NT530 with Mercedes software but im not really recommending it because I havent had the chance to try out anything else other than a $15 basic reader. I just had a check engine light on and the scanner was able to tell me it was an O2 sensor which I ended up replacing myself and saved alot of money. Only thing I dont like about the NT530 is its not touch screen, also isnt wifi so i have to download updates from my computer. The NT710 is the touch screen version but its over $250.

*I will say my experience with customer service from Foxwell was good. I had bought the scanner "used-like new" on Amazon for a very low price and when I received it I couldnt register it it my name, appears it really was used and someone already registered it. I emailed Foxwell on a Friday night about it and they responded Monday and reset it for me so I could register it. Seems like they did a factory reset on there end. They even followed up with me the next day asking if the problem was solved. Then after that I had downloaded there newest update and the auto vin detection wouldnt work, I had to enter the vin in myself. I emailed Foxwell about it and within a few days they linked me to a new software download and everything was working fine again.

THANK YOU!!! You really been a lot of help !! I will get this scanner and hopefully see what’s wrong with it. Also see if I just have to reset my ECU or whatever . Thank you again!! But what else can I do , if all fails . Seems like I would need a good scanner to even decide my next step , right?

In the photo it looks like the "Brake" light is on. is your parking brake on?

So you start the car and all those warning lights stay on?

Do you get any messages on the dash where the odometer is, if so what do they say? Or try going into Messages on the dash using the steering wheel buttons and check.

Have you done anything to the car recently before those warnings came on, or they just popped up out of the blue?

I was searching around for your issue and was coming up with the basic problems. mostly a faulty wheel speed sensor. Still need to scan the car to see if that is the issue, and if so which one it even is. Could be the rear.

Did you find your floor board full of water anytime in the last few years? I got the same warning lights a few years after my driver side floor board was flooded after a bad storm (and due to dirty and clogged drain holes by the windshield) and turned out to be the canbus connectors being corroded. I swapped em out and am A-okay since!
But yes, like the previous poster suggested, any other warning lights? Error Codes? Messages ?
my dash would warn saying traction control disabled, speed sensor error, accelerator position sensor error, etc.

(I read mine using a $20 OBD2 scanner from Amazon, and tried clearing the codes that would clear but show up again 2 mins after restart).

I took this picture when I was parked so I had my parking brake on naturally . It’s just the other lights that are on . It does give me a message . I’m going to take a picture of it the next time I turn it on . But if I’m correct the message would say “ ABS and ESC inoperative “ . I have changed the wheel bearings but after that these lights came on .

ESP button may be on your dash in the middle.

There is some information on what all the different warnings mean in your Operators Manual in the glove box. Just look up "ESP" in the front to see what pages its covered on. I was looking in mine in the Vehicle Status Messages In The Multifunction Display section. Mostly says to contact Mercedes but sometimes it may tell you what to check.

Since the warnings came on after changing the wheel bearings it can be a damaged wheel speed sensor, bearing not installed right, may even be dirty in there. I believe the bearings themselves have a magnetic side that works with the wheel speed sensor so they have to be installed a certain way.

To turn the ESP off on some W204 models there is no switch, it's done through the selectable Menu in the Speedometer MFD (Multi Function Display).

I bought the launch Creader elite V2.0 , going to test it out when there’s more light outside . I do not have that ESP button . I’m pretty sure it’s in my display where my speedometer is .

So I tried this scanner and it’s amazing I love it . I reset my codes and they went away . I drove it for 2 mins and then the lights came back on . Came back to my house and scanned it again . Only for these codes to pop up. I believe I know what to do , but for reassurance let me know?

Appears there is a fault at the front right (passenger) wheel speed sensor.

Do you have the old wheel speed sensors that you replaced on the left drivers side? May be worth trying to put that one in the right side and see if it solves the issue. Thats assuming nothing was wrong with the drivers side in the beginning.

In general I always save the old parts.

OCP (N70)- Do you have an issue with the overhead control panel? Anything not working? https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...eplacement.htm

Thats a very nice scanner. Im debating on getting one, not sure if it can do more than my Foxwell or if i just want it for the touch screen.

I fixed the problem !! All it needed was an official Mercedes sensor . Clear the codes with the amazinggg computer and boom problem solved . The computer is amazing , definitely recommend . My car is ready for inspection and should be able to pass once I get my tint removed lol. Thank you for helping me through out everything , I really appreciate it . This is my first car so it means alot
