You have a leak probably coming via the seals at the top of the trunk lid should there be any cabling that passes through to the lid. Water shouldn't be coming out of the lock mechanism. If after inspecting, you can't see an obvious entry point, get a hose and spot by spot, slowly dribble water around any possible entry points. With each one, open the trunk and check. Keep pressure low as there are electrics inside the trunk lid.
Looks to me that that trim has been removed at some point, different screws, gaps? Is that rust in the circles?
I would remove that black plastic trim and see if you can notice any obvious signs of water damage or staining. Try and see where the water is entering from.
