c180 dash
Hi all my first post . This c180 I have is the best car ive ever had apart from timing chains its been amazing over my 11 year ownership.
The problem id like advise on is the instruments they have stopped working altogether searching shows that its not uncommon and my diagnosis has got me to the point i know its the cluster. My question is and i feel I know the answer is I have a spares car I bought for the engine a few years ago will the cluster from that car work or will i have immobiliser issues / programming ? The car is not to hand its stored miles away so hence the question.

Hi Mazza My dash screen and reversing camera etc went on my 2012 c180 and it turned out to be the battery in the boot even though it showed 12v. Once I replaced the battery with a new one it has been perfect.
But I imagine your problem is a different kettle of fish!

Thank you for that I had left the car and when I read this I went to the car which was now flat , It turned out that despite starting before the battery was past its sell by, 200k and 17 years is quite a feat . Yes it still had the original battery.
With a new one fitted all is well.
Thank you for prompting me to go back to the car after a few weeks as we have been super busy at work .
