Unhappy M271.820 EVO Oil leak from behind starter motor

I have a 2011 C200 (204.248) with a M271.820 EVO engine. I have a small oil leak that originates behind the starter motor from the front bottom bolt of what appears to be a plastic casing that also houses the oil filter cartridge.
The oil leak is in the area circled in blue.

Has anyone had this defect before and can tell me how to best fix it. I suspect I will neet to take the starter motor out and then access the assembly from above, but there is so much stuff in the way...

Thanks

It most like the oil filter housing gasket.
I think it was last year or the year before I replaced mine. I had to remove the intake manifold and the starter to get to the OFH.
Jobs is little involved but very much doable.

Hello @hub24 , I’ve had that same issue before. The leak is likely coming from your oil filter housing OFH. You will need to remove the starter to remove the OFH. The starter blocks one of the bolts to the OFH.

please note that there is a coolant line that runs to the OFH that you will need to disconnect as well. So be prepared to lose some coolant.

you will also need to remove the intake manifold to access the OFH.

I would suggest you get new intake manifold gaskets in the event one gets torn or rolled when removing/reinstalling the manifold.

Keep us posted !
