Just noticed yesterday that rubber seal on my rear window doesn't cover full upper gap, but rather like 15 cm from left and right side, leaving most of gap prone for water to get in and potentially leak into trunk.
For lack of other W204 to compare, I wonder if it was intentionally left so or my car just missing proper sealing at center. If it is the latter, any suggested ways to fix it?
It is normal to have that gap and it shouldn't bother anything or cause any leak.
They do sell things like this gap filler tape if you don't like the gap. I don't think there tape would live thru many automatic car washes tho if you use those.

@TimC300 I found your topic explaining replacement of plastic pads (for lack of better word) on sides of trunk, which is excellent. Gotta do that myself - my plastic pads have some dirt under so it kind of begs of cleaning. Would probably do it soon.
