C220d engine issues
Hi all,
Hoping for a bit of advice, I have a 2011 C220d and the other week having driven 80 miles on cruise at 68mph my eml came on and the engine started knocking, I read the fault codes and several low fuel pressure codes showed up as well as a non communication code i have had it recovered to a Mercedes specialist and they have advised the bottom end has gone hence the knocking, when i asked about the low fuel pressure codes he advised the main fuel pump had failed hence the fault codes and as a result the oil pump had also failed resulting in the failed bottom end. Can anyone advise if this is possible as i thought the high pressure fuel pump would have no effect on the oil pump as they are driven independently???
