ESL Emulator
I recently went to an MB specialist, and I was talking to the tech - he said he had just been working on an ESL issue due to an emulator that had been installed. He said the car had an emulator that seemed to ruin the EIS, and created all kinds of problems. The lady had recently bought the car used and had no idea what was going on.
I was thinking of doing an emulator preemptively, but now I’m not so sure. He also said for the standard repair with replacement ESL it has to get approved thru some security agency and the car has to have an error code, along with proof of auto registration and drivers license. He said his shop had to pay a big yearly fee to be able to process these. It’s unbelievable what as mess the ESL issue is.
So now I guess I just have to wait and see if I get stricken by the ESL lightning and get stranded one day.

My emulator is approaching 3 yrs without any issues. It acts like a real ESL without a physical lock, so I just do not think it would cause EIS any problems.
Pay attention to the sound. Mine was weakening and that was when I installed emulator.

My ESL finally failed today @ 142K miles, car is dead as expected. Got the dreaded A25464 code.
Would an emulator still work for me, or what’s the best solution for an already failed ESL?
