I am experiencing an issue with my 2009 W204 C350 CDI (165 kW) wagon. Occasionally, while driving, the gearbox or engine enters limp mode, limiting the engine RPM to max 1,500 regardless of how hard you pushing pedal. However, if I stop the car and restart the engine, the issue resolves. Notably, there are no warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, and the OBD does not display any error codes. I would appreciate any insights or solutions from anyone who has encountered a similar problem.
You will need to scan the car. There are many codes that will show up without turning in the check engine light. So scanning with a good Mercedes scanner is the first step.
I have no personal experience with this issue and dont have that engine.
I would expect to see some type of fault code/codes when this occurs. I was looking through the manual for my M272 and a fault with the transmission appears to trigger a fault code of some kind and limits the gearing, not sure about engine rpm. I did come across something for the throttle valve actuator that will limit engine rpm.
