W204 intake manifold modification anyone?
I'm a new guy here. i had my 2010 W204 3.0 for 3-4 yrs and saw the composite manifold M014 "upgrade" modification on FCP euro it seems the only worthwhile upgrade for these cars besides the "regular ones", but I guess the last one available was sold, so my question is
A) as anyone tried removing the flaps on the original intake? keep solenoids connected for CARB purposes, does the computer adjust fuel trims when activated?
B) as anyone tried adding the bigger throttle assembly from the SLK55? seems that is a bottleneck on all cars and SLK55 throttle bodies are cheaper now compared to 10 yrs ago, is there a throttle adapter available?
anyone car steer me to the right place? I have look but no luck

I think the point of that FCP article was to replace the magnesium manifold with the swirl flaps to the plastic manifold that doesnt have moving flaps, less likely of failure.
ive come across a few people who opened up there intake manifolds to replace broken flaps, they claimed it worked fine for awhile until something else broke. Just search "Mercedes M272 intake manifold repair" on Google, search thru "Images" and you will come across them.
As far as removing the flaps altogether, I dont know why you would want to. And the larger throttle body wont fit, probably need an adapter like you mention. No idea what sizes you would need. Im guessing the ecu would need to be reprogramed.
Is your current intake broken or not working properly? If so just replace it. In my opinion.
no there's no issue with my manifold,
reading up on the FCP Euro article mentions that the manifold along with the Slk55 throttle upgrade gives you a better top end power without any modifications all plug and play, seeing as the manifold is no longer available,
I thought why not remove the flaps and let it breathe better. seeing how that would be the only worthwhile upgrade and proven that it gains HP and flattens up the torque curve
and we know that the larger SLK55 Throttle body can be fitted to the motor with the plastic intake fitting without modification so I was thinking this can help at least a little bit
something to think about since there's no real power adders to this car
