I have a 09’ c300 RWD manual and am looking to replace the engine. Will any m272 engine from the C class work from 2008-2011 and does it matter if it came from an automatic?

I had a 1999 Audi A4 that I converted from automatic to manual. The job turned into a PITA as the crankshaft end where the tranny mounted was different between the two transmissions. Also, the mounting points on the frame for the manual were in different locations. Fortunately, I had a good shop doing the work and they were able to make everything fit. So, you are smart to check. Not sure if they are different for Mercedes.
My EPC is for US models. Not sure if it covers non-US models, so trying to look up different part numbers for the crankshaft may not work.
Please post your VIN and I will try to see if different crankshafts are listed.
