Please help :)
There is a strange whining, and rotational noise coming from right under my center console that gets louder with vehicle speed (not RPM).
I have changed all the following items in an attempt to resolve the issue:
- Wheel bearings
- Drive Shaft and U connection
- Front Axle Differential Carrier (entire assembly)
Basically everything my licensed mechanic recommended. Needless to say, I won't be here if his effort resolved the issue.
Please take a listen and give me your thoughts.

I like to check for any TSB's that may point to an issue to check. Found one about a howling noise but may not be it. I'll post anyways.
Me, I would try getting the car up on jack stands so all the wheels can spin freely, put the car in drive then try to pin point where its coming from. Will take two people to do. And dont go under the car, I have an inexpensive automotive stethoscope that would come in handy to reach under.
From reading thru the drivetrain section of the repair manual I see they make a big deal of measuring angles of the propeller shaft, even installing shims at the center bearing. But I would try to locate the noise first.
Just thought of this, how does the transmission mount look? may be worn and throwing the propeller shaft angle off.

The TSB he noted could also be an issue. Anything that connects the drive train components to the body near the console without an isolator. The console is flexible plastic and acts like a sound box amplifying the noise.
So check transmission mount, too. Worn, broken, or hardened rubber can send drivetrain noise in through the console.
