Question CL500 Wheels on a C300 -- TPMS compatibility

Was able to get a set of 2002 CL500 wheels for cheap and in pretty decent condition. Plan is to use it on with my winter tire set on my 2008 W204 C300.

I was planning to use the TPMS sensor for W204, but not sure if they will fit.

Have you guys do something similar? Do you know if it will work?

Another option if the sensors do not fit the wheel, is to use the 2002CL Sensors, but not sure if they will work with the 2008 C300

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers

They should work, bu if unsure, get new sensors that are known to work with your C300. The wheel is immaterial since I have aftermarket winter wheels that work fine with my TPMS. I think it is a matter of the transmit frequency, not the brand of pressure sensors. You can always call up TireRack and ask them.

My 2003 W211 used 315 mHz TPMS and my 2010 W204 used 433 mHz. I think the switch over was 2006 - 2009 depending on the model. As mentioned before, TireRack or a Discount Tire store should know the details.
There should be a 433 mHz sensor available to fit the wheel in any case.

I dont think the sensors themselves are interchangeable, wont work with the electronics. Im finding different part #'s between the two. I looked up a W204 sensor on FCP and it does work with many models, even 2002 G500, but does not list 2002 CL500.

On the CL500 parts diagram im seeing part# 0008223306 for the sensor. Seems the same as 0009055705.

But a W204 sensor should fit in a CL500 rim. Same diameter valve stem.

I once bought and installed a cheap schrader clone tpms in my W204 and it worked fine, automatically linked within a mile of driving. I later replaced with Genuine Mercedes just because I was having new tires installed and didnt want to deal with cheap batteries in the sensor dying early.

Thank you All!!!

One of my concerns is the fitting of the sensors, but seems that they will.
I will order the sensors and paint the wheels in the meantime. I still got at least one month and a half before needed the winter tires.
