Esp unvailable + limp mode
I have a Mercedes W204 C200 CDI (2007) with around 380,000 km.
Recent work done:
- all injectors replaced ~15,000 km ago
- regular maintenance always done on time
- gearbox serviced at 330k km
- EGR replaced and intake cleaned at the same time as injectors
Current issue:
- car runs perfectly when cold
- once it warms up, I get “ESP unavailable” and the car goes into limp mode
- after restarting, sometimes it goes back to normal temporarily
I went to a garage and:
- they said it was the DPF pressure sensor → replaced it
- they also did a chemical DPF cleaning
After that:
- the car ran perfectly for about 2–3k km
- then the exact same problem came back
At this point I’m trying to understand what the real cause could be before throwing more money at it.
Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.

if you dont already have a Mercedes specific obd scanner i'd recommend getting one of the Launch Creader scanners. Either Amazon or AliExpress. Any of the ones below will work for your needs.
