2015 C450 Leaked. A New leader in the segment.
All C400 orders should be taken back! lol.
C450 due for 2015 release, Current specs: 367 hp boosted 3.0 biturbo V6
All AMG bodystyling, AMG Brakes, Amg seats, maybe even AMG exhaust system. Co-Developed between AMG and Mercedes. Not an official AMG though.
C400 had already taken everyone to school in terms of quality, and overall power. the only thing lacking, which were not even sure of, is the handling, I have read that it is very good, but not to the level of the 335i M-sport and the Audi S4. In this sports lite segment, with the C450 perofmrance minded Non AMg C-Class, it looks like AMG is changing the automotive industry in terms of performance for price. this will force Audi and BMW to improve their outputs as well. I'm excited. It's just the price, i hope its under 50k.
(RWD and AWD offered)

I have to wonder how long these V6 engines are going to continue in the W205. The 2016 W213 E is moving to a straight 6, Mercedes wants to stop making the V6s because the straight-6 is a modular engine that shares alot with the 4 cylinder motors. So at best, I see two model years of the W205 with the V6, then it moves to the new straight-6.

I hope they really took the time to develop this motor however. It could be a legend if it delivers on sound, throttle response, crispness, reliability, and fuel economy. Not expecting it to be perfect, but for now I know that this engine will be doing a good job filling in for 2 years. Let's see what they could do. The reason I feel kinda excited is because I love the current 350 3.5 V6 configuration that I have in my SLK350. Such a beautiful sound, great throttle response, has been super reliable and returns better than average fuel economy. It is definitely right up there with the flat 6 of the boxster and cayman. If not, it's better. Take it for a drive. The fact that this engine is the same with some smaller cylinders and a couple of turbos is a good thing. Let's just hope the turbos didn't kill it. If anything though, they'll improve fuel economy and deliver a lot more power.

I'm guessing it will look exactly like the W205 C400 with more power. And that's not a bad thing.

I can't find anywhere where it says it will have AMG brakes, body styling, etc. You want to make an aggressive car but you also don't want to dilute the AMG brand (like BMW has been doing with all of the M Sport/M Performance stuff).

I'm making this assumption based on the newer AMG line stuff being released in Europe that have these features. Not sure of the entire body kit though, what I meant was more of tweaks to the C400 body, the brakes and stuff like that should come with the package, otherwise, would be an "AMG lite" like they are saying. The name is the "C450 AMG sport" for now, assuming they're going to charge 4k more at least over a c400, they should at least include AMG braking system given they have upped the power to AMG levels
My guess is that the brake hardware will be the same as that found on the E550. Cross-drilled rotors with standard Mercedes-Benz calipers. That should be enough stopping power, considering the car is lighter than the W204 C-Class.

This would be a fun car! I believe it is a solid strategy - adding an additional engine option as an incremental improvment. Should provide a logical 'next step' for those that are on the verge of going with the AMG version but can't quite justify the expense

What an excellent idea from Mercedes to offer this. Its true, the gap in performance is tremendous between the C400 and the C63. On top of that, if the rumors are true... it will give the people wanting a 4matic variant of the C63 some hope.
This should be likened to the M-Sport variants of all the BMW's. Its proven to be an excellent upgrade for people wanting a sporty feel without the price tag.
For those in the north east, its incredibly important to have a car like this. Most people looking at the M3, M4, M5 have serious gripes about the fact that its RWD. Since the introduction of the M-Sport variants on the one step below models... they've been selling out like hot cakes. My brother in law has a 650XI M-Sport Gran coupe for this exact reason. M6 was rwd and 650XI with the M-Sport package was just enough to hold him over =).
If this model does come out and they base it off of how BMW does their M Sport categories.. its going to be a great car. Interior upgrades and accents, new suspension, body accents, wheels, brake option, etc.... This is on my short list of cars if it does actually come out. Its between this and the upcoming new body Audi S4 for me currently.

Very Nice!
Although I do have to say, I don't really like the way they did those exhaust pipes. It looks cheap to me. Would have been so much nicer to do it the way they do the other AMG cars. Clearly delineating the pipes. Also the wheels aren't my cup of tea... i hope thats still pre-production test wheels. Still though, car looks promising.

And I can't agree more with comments about availability of AWD on these types of vehicles for the snow belt regions in the country. Definitely a winning combo!

Really, the w205 is the "benchmark" for quality in this segment? Have you read through some of these w205 problem threads?
