Is there a C-Class Four-Door Coupe on the Way?
Mercedes-Benz wants to fill the garages of new luxury car shoppers with its 2015 C-Class. Clearly, it also wants to fill holes in the automobile market, such as the crossover "coupe" segment.
The new C will, of course, be offered as a sedan, as well as in convertible form; however, it may also take shape as a four-door coupe. Regarding this prospect, Thomas Weber, the head of research and development at M-B, recently told Auto Express, "There is room between the CLA and the CLS -- we are intensively looking at remaining niches that will provide us with profitability and growth." If they do this, and the E class gets redesigned to look like the new c and s class, then there would literally be this:
regular sedans = small, medium, and large
coupe sedans= small, medium, and large
it's like a menu :}
joking aside, it might be kinda neat to have a "just right" 4door coupe. I agree the cla too small, cls too big.
Imagine a c63 (or whatever it'll be called for the w205) in a 4door coupe style. wow.
ps...i'm not talking about the bloated ml/mls thing. I think it would be cool to have an affordable scaled down version of the cls, not that hiked up looking thing in the link. would it be called a clc???? mb has SO MANY vehicles
