My first thoughts getting in at night. It's barely noticeable unless you set it to blue - at least in my red interior

Ambient to me usually means indirect lighting that still brightens a broad but unspecific area. The "ambient" lights in the C class is more like a bathroom night light.

I have the crystal grey interior. All the colours, on max brightness, are very bright on the doors, less so on the centre console. Its a fad, it looks great for the 2 seconds you notice it when you get in and then you don't notice it any more because you're driving! There are so many lights, door handles, external mirror, the sill plate, the red door marker, carpet lights, interior lights, ambient lights. Its like a christmas tree at night.

I wanted to use the blue in my car, as I always liked the blue ambient in my old Jaguar. But the lights in the switches in the console and doors always stay amber and the two different colours bugged me. So it stays on amber now permanently. Would have been nice if the leds in the switches changed to make the colour of the lights.

Is ambient lighting an additional option? I don't have the ambient lighting colour options in vehicle settings where they should be

Leather Upholstery
Passenger Seat with 3-Position Memory
Ventilated Seats
Ambient Lighting
Illuminated Door Sills
If you don't have that package, you won't have Ambient Lighting.

Interesting. I have the leather upholstery and passenger seat with 3 position memory but not the others. Must have been chosen separately

I prefer the contrast of the blue ambient lighting and the amber seat controls / window buttons.

Um, OK. I hardly think the ambient lighting system is the central feature of the Interior Package. It's just a nice add-on. What makes the Interior Package a worthwhile addition [IMHO] is the ventilated leather seats and the 3 position memory for the passenger seat. I would have paid for it even if it didn't include ambient lighting or illuminated door sills. But that's me, of course.

I have Crystal Grey leather (more of off-white) with the Black Ash trim. I have my ambient light setting on the blue color and it looks great with those contrasts!

Does anyone know if you can add the ambient lighting afterwards? I bought a demo and didn't while it had almost everything that I wanted, this was the one option that was missing.

Can anyone confirm that the ambient light colour surrounding the seat controls in the new c250 w205 is always Amber no matter what other colour is selected for the other cabin zones
