can anyone confirm if you can change colors of the ambient lighting? ive heard you can, but i heard it ranges from 3 to 5 different colors. ive read articles saying the colors are only white, yellow, and red, but then ive seen pictures of the 2015 c class with blue ambient lighting. so which one is it because im a bit confused?

I wanted to use the blue in my car, as I always liked the blue ambient in my old Jaguar. But the lights in the switches in the console and doors always stay amber and the two different colours bugged me. So it stays on amber now permanently. Would have been nice if the leds in the switches changed to make the colour of the lights.

Just had a CLA loaner today, and there must be at least a dozen color choices for the ambient lighting, including different shades of green, red, etc. Not sure why the C would not have at least as many, instead of just 3.
But then again, these are first world problems, aren't they? My current 2012 C350 only has one color, orange/amber, and it's perfectly fine...I suspect when I get my C450 I will probably use the same color.

If there is an upgraded leather "Interior Package" that's what has the Ambient Lighting.

after-market ambient lighting
i didn't order my car with ambient lighting (big mistake) and with the black interior and tinted windows it is very dark at night...
so i ordered a roll of 12v rgb led's and controller for $11 from china... i'll add the led's under the dash and under the front seats (front and rear)... and with approx 8 feet of el-wire, i can stripe the doors and the dash too for another $10... not a great solution as i'll have to manually turn them on and select colors (27) and brightness every time i want to use them from a remote control in the center console... but on long trips and driving at nite, it'll be worth it... and a fun spring time project too...

And when I was playing around in the interface noticed there are like 20 colors to pick from
Why on earth would they give the CLA more choice and the C300 not?

It depends on where in the 205's development cycle the car was when the latest gizmos became available. 64 color ambient lighting showed up last year in the new E. I'm sure the facelifted S will get it, as well as whatever safety and autonomous driving stuff the E got, and you'll likely see the same in the 205's mid cycle refresh.

Is your car W204 or W205? W205 come into most of market in 2015, it come with an ambient light with tricolor: blue, orange and silver; The color and brightness can be controlled by the Mercedes Command control know, if your W205 does not come with the ambient light, you can add one from aftermarket.
Here's one Mercedes C Class W205 OEM design ambient light for your reference:

We offer 2 options, the center console lights is OEM parts, door lights made by us but also looks like OEM design.
Option 1 lighting effect will be same as OEM one with 3 colors (White, Blue & Orange).
Options 2 is with 12 colors, lighting color is same colors of Mercedes ambient light color series (such as E, GLE, CLS), but lighting way is a little different, it is breathing lighting way, not "fixing lighting", color is changing every time.
Please check below link for installation video for reference (bTW, we also have the 3D rotary tweeter with same ambient light for C Class W205).
