2010 C-Class 200CDI
Amazing car, congratulations!
What is your average fuel consumption on this petrol engine? I am very pleased with the economy of my W204 200CDI, especially on long trips, but I might just consider a petrol car in the future.

Thanks Chris.
I mainly drive in the city so it's a lot of stop and go, plus being in Oslo it's a lot of hills and so on.
Average is 0,7 I/km I believe. Driving in "Eco mode" it might go down to 0,5 l/km.
but being a petrol engine it starts easier and with less vibrations when stopping at red light and the engine turns off and on.
It is faster from stand still and in sport mode it just fires away, much more agile then my W212 E200CDI.
My E200 CDI averaged 0,7 to 0,8 l/km also.
Just found out today that you can click the "rolling" volume button by the touchpad, and it will mute the music.

it looks as if the lumbar button is moved toward the front edge of the seat. that's a nice move on their part, it's always a PITA to cramp your hand down in the area while your sitting in the w204!

Really very nice looking car!
I ordered mine in June and delivery is expected between september and beginning of october. I'd just like to ask you a question as you're one of the very few in the world with Garmin (and I ordered mine with the tech package that, here in Italy includes Garmin and rear view camera): did you try to install external POIs or speedcams? Is it just a copy and paste of files on the SD? Thanks a lot in advance and, again, compliments!

I have only tried to install a different language, and that didn't work.
Also haven't tried adding speed cameras. I looked into it but couldn't find where to save them on the memory card

The POI loader reads CSV files and GPX files.
The icons need to be .bmp versions and eithere 36x36 or 48x48 and in 8bit.
Created one folder with the gpx file and icon for tollbooths.
Created another folder with csv files. There is csv file for each speedlimit, and then an appropriate icon for the same. For example:
"Speedlimit_60.csv", and the icon must be "Speedlimit_60.bmp".
Opened up POI loader, directed it to the folder, and finish. It created a new .gpi file.
Made three gpi files. One for Norway, one for Sweden, and toll roads for Norway.
Copied and pasted the file under the folder named "POI" on the SD card.
Result:
Something is approaching...
If speed above or close to the limit, a red warning with a sound "pling" is given:
All speed cameras and toll booths in oslo...

Hi Megaoctane,
Have you considered black ash open pore interior when ordering the car?
How does the piano lacquer cleans? Isnt it full of fingerprints all the time?
I like the modern sporty look of piano lacquer with aluminum trims but Im concerned about it being dirty all the time and also if it gets full of scratches easily.
The black ash wood trim seems to be more tolerant to scratches and fingerprints while giving the car a more distinct luxury touch
Your thoughts are appriciated

I did consider the ash, but went for the black piano.
It can get scratches easily yes.
It gets dirty in the sense that the dust is more visible against the shiny black piano.
Although I get a lot of compliments for the aluminum trim, as does the Burmester speakers. The speakers match the aluminum perfectly.
I keep av fluffy extremely soft microfiber cloth in the car, the same as used for removing wax.
One quick pass of the cloth once a week, and it's clean and shiny again.

Megaoctane, do you know there are black OEM locking bolts available?
I really dislike the glossy black panel, dust is very visible as well as scratches and fingerprints, this is why I ordered the black ash, and as a bonus Ill get the analog clock with it.

I didn't know of the black locking bolts. I had these left over after my W212, and decided to use these. But no issue. Now anyone with bad intentions can see the locking bolts, and move on to the next car.

Do you have the Artico leather or the real expensive leather option?
Still havnt decided what I want here but I really like the leather dash much better.

I ordered my c250 bluetec obsidian black metallic with artico leather and im thinking of adding black ash interior, I think its gonna make a nice contrast on the doors with the burmester speakers and silver seat controls

Did some research. Downloaded the Poi loader. There is a Norwegian site that has all the Toll locations (.gpx file) and speed cams (.csv file)
The POI loader reads CSV files and GPX files.
The icons need to be .bmp versions and eithere 36x36 or 48x48 and in 8bit.

Made three gpi files. One for Norway, one for Sweden, and toll roads for Norway.
Copied and pasted the file under the folder named "POI" on the SD card.

Artico is more than good enough. Better to invest those 3000$ in some extras for the car if possible, or just save it for a long trip once the car arrives

in your country do you get ambient lighting separately? here in the u.s. it comes in the interior package, so if you want interior package you have to get full leather

Every country have their own package options, but usually here in Scandinavia we have more smaller separate options to choose from, good or bad I dont know but unfortunately it sure is much more expensive than the US packages and options.

European buyers can pick and chose each option code, and every model is available, estate/wagons and sedans.
some options are country standards. In Norway collision prevention and heated window washers are standard.
In the US, it is MBUSA who is importing all Mercs. They are pushing on big engines for less money. If Mercedes is to make money, they have to sell everything in packages, thus forcing the buyer to buy more or nothing.
In Scandinavia, and Norway in particular, cars are expensive because of taxes on CO2/NOx emissions, horsepowers and weight.
