Just got the C300 4Matic delivered - SF Bay Are
Just picked up the new C300 4Matic on Tuesday night.
Palladium Silver
Premium Pkg
Rear cam
Blind assist
Heated Seat
Walnut Wood
Panorama roof
Price wise, no discount now at least in the bay area, contacted few down in LA, same story. Seems like they are going off the lot fairly quick. There was another person right before me took the delivery of the C300 as well. I think the dealer sold 4-5 in 2 days already.
I traded my 2011 BMW 528 for this... I wasn't thinking about getting the car on my 1st visit (just not my type).
I was a die-hard bimmer fan before, but after owning 3 generations of bimmer (E36, E46, F10), I really think their quality and reliability is going downhill. The F10 was giving me so much trouble over the past 4 years (more than 10 visits!!) so I was definitely *NOT* looking to get another bimmer this time around.
The look of the C is a killer IMO, handling is *very* comparable to the 3 and better than the 5 (I tried all loaners during my 10 visits). Rear spacing definitely surprised me, my entire family (son, wife) not counting the baby girl approved it!
I was always skeptical on the 4 cyc since I've been driving natural breathing I6 for a long time and that's what make BMW so famous for. But the MB 4 cyc is definitely smoother than the BMW 3 4 cyc. Ever since I drove my 1st car (Saab 900), turbo engine was never really my choice due to the turbo lag, but man I guess technology definitely improved in the past 20 years and this C300 power curve is so smooth.... Really a pleasant driving experiences I had.
Bimmer just finished 1 generation of turbo so I don't think their technology is as mature compare to MB or even Audi/Volks
I plan to keep my vehicle and hope MB will be more reliable to earn my next car business. Still have a chance to get the extended warranty and debate if I should go for it or not

since I didnt get the Navi package and Carplay is in an unknown stage at the time (might not even work on non-navi system). I use the car mostly for commute but do want to have *some* in car navigation. I am debating if I should get the outrageous priced ($600) Garmin SD card or pre-order navdy to get the HUD experiences as well :P ($299)

Ask your dealership if they could give you a discount on the Becker map pilot. It would cost 600 as well but would use the OEM LCD and I think up dates don't cost that much if you needed them.

Becker no longer has contract with MB, they use Garmin Map Pilot now. My local dealer doesn't even have it. Keenan does and still cost like $530

Does the rearview camera on your C300 have active guidelines that show projected path when the wheel is turned? Can you post or send a picture to the rearview camera view?

Great pictures. I notice you don't have COMAND navigation. Do you think the parking guidelines could be different or missing on vehicles with COMAND? My understanding is that the 360 camera was delayed due to interference with COMAND navigation. If that's true, could there be an issue with COMAND and the rearview camera? Did you test drive a car with COMAND?

Moreover @ jayband: I assume you've got the Garmin Map Pilot. How is it in terms of usability? Can you use voice commands to program it? And in order to insert pois and speedcams is it as a normal Garmin PND? Thanks!!

The car in K187's video above has both command and retro camera with parking guidelines. So no issue!

I am not in desperate in using navigation since the car is mostly for commute but it's a good to have features.
