On order, the new W205 Wagon

great to hear some real life feedback.
re the Airbalance, the ionizing fuction alone, almost makes the package worth the money. well maye not in DK due to the taxes, but still.. According to a few users on a german board, you can reuse the empty vials and refill them with your own scent of preference. They esitmate the facroty vials to last for ca. 15.000 km at medium setting, which is not that bad really.
The wife is on about the hitch. The price for the factory fitted one, is quite reasonable, and it is neatly tucked away and simple to operate. It is her car really, so i will leav it up to her in the end.
Re the rear view camera, would you know if it comes with parking sensors included, or of this is only included with the parktronic?
The bind spot assist, glad you think its worth it.. i had a feeling it must be a nice feature. so the basic package lights up the warning triangle in the side mirror, and only beeps if you activate the blinkers while a car is the blind spot?

Yes. The blind spot lights up red when there is a car in your blind zone, and you get the beep if you turn on the blinkers.
The rear view camera doesn't come with park sensors. Go for the parking package with rear view camera, it is worth it.
Did you get the comand? You say Business navigation. Not sure what you mean.
Are you planning to watch a lot of movies, Internet browsing, navigating etc? I am completely happy with the garmin map pilot. It also has a web browser etc.

The Command is ridiculously priced here in DK, so i think most opt for the Business Navi package. it consists of 522 Audio 20 med Touchpad, 355 Forberedelse for Garmin® MAP PILOT samt 357 Garmin® MAP PILOT.
I think that will more then meet our needs, and i have hope for the Apple Carplay system to fill in future needs.
It is another 15.000 dkk for the full parking package, over the rear camera alone, and we are pretty sure that we will hardly ever use the auto parking function. So i was hoping for parking sensors to be included with the camera.. damn...
Until the other day i was sure that some sort of parking sensor system came as standard, but that is german cars for you!

In Denmark we have +160% sales tax on cars, thus I couldn't afford things like the pano. I would have loved it, and I bet its great!
I went with these options:
+ 7g-tronic
+ parktronic (for the parking sensors)
+ Avantgarde exterior
+ AMG interior (for the seats)
+ Burmeister
+ Business Navi (Garmin Mappilot) - The command was just too expensive
+ Ambiente lighting
+ Intelligent light system
+ Airmatic
+ Distronic
+ business package (which includes the seat-comfort package, 66L diesel tank, and any color of choice (except the two premium ones)
+ Black Ashwood Interior (no alu panels for me - I really loved those, but that piano black center console gave me the creeps
@vic viper - I'd be very interested to hear how the airmatic handles with 20" - I bought the 18" ones for summer use - Going to use the (R48) 17" for winter use.
Im worried that anything larger than 18" will make it a bumpy ride but, I guess I will get 1st hand experience with it soon enough.

At the risk of meddeling in things that is no business of mine, i might have some potential bad news on your choice of the Business package.
If you tally up the value of what you get in the business package, and considering that you have ordered 7G auto, which includes (cruise control), and he Avantgarde exterior package with 17" wheels, it is cheaper for you to buy the metal paint, larger tank and seat comfort package individually.

To update my purchase I have already ordered an airbag unit and steering wheel switchblock units from the new S-Class Coupe
Will fit them as soon as the car arrives, hopefully itll be soon, starting to get tired of riding my bike..

regarding the auto parking function. i also thought that i would never use it. but ever since i got it, i use it all the time, especially if you drive by a spot and you think to yourself: "will my car fit in there?", just look at the "P" symbol. if it shows up a white arrow, it means "Yes you will". Then let the car do the parking for you in the tight spot. always spot on.

I can see how that will make a nice upgrade. Can you share the costs for the parts needed?

The switch units cost around SEK 1300 each and the airbaig unit SEK 7000
These are retail prices and my price are obviously lower, but I am afraid I cant say by how much.

Its the button clusters on the steering wheel,
In the S Coupe they are "shadow silver" same as the surrounding trim.
The airbag is also leather clad, looks way better than the stock plastic one.

Parts are starting to add up, just recently got my illuminated star kit and I am just about to order the leather airbag unit, however I cannot decide wich color stitching I should go for.
The airbag is available in light grey or black stitching, the steering wheel has black stitches but the seats and dash have the lighter grey.
What do you think would fit better in the car?
Grey stitching:

I think Id go with the grey stitching. The one is the S does not look out of place and also has black stitching around the wheel part. This would be a subtle match to your seats which have grey

Its really hard when you havnt seen them IRL, it would suck if the stitching color dont match upp with the seats or dash.
As the unit comes from an S-Coupé they may not utilize the same color schemes as the W205.

After being able to spend the weekend with my car using temporary plates Ive got the opportunity to evaluate the 205 at higher detail, I have driven almost hundreds of different 205.s, but this one is mine and I can now compare my inputs I have gotten so far.
The things that stand out this far are.
The Airmatic system, but no means are this system even close to the steel suspension 205, the ride in comfort mode is a lot smoother and more comfortable and luxurious as well as the stiffer and lower setting is increasing the sportiness in the car to a high degree in the sport plus setting.
Throttle response and gear changes in sport plus,
when selecting sport plus after driving in comfort or eco when you are approaching a more inspiring road puts a true smile on my face, never have I driven a model C with this much driving pleasure, the shifting is harder and the engine map is changed giving the exhaust "grunts" at each shift, well done Mercedes.
The Burmester, I was very disappointed with the entry level sound system in the 205, didnt have time to fully evaluate the Burmester, but now with an SD-card stuffed with high bitrate music of my own taste I definately dont regret paying the almost $1400 extra for it.
IMO both Airmatic and the Burmester is a must have when buying a 205
