Why buy 4Matic in the desert?
I'm interested in a C300 RWD and can't come up with any reasons, other than an earlier delivery, to buy the 4Matic model. Can anyone tell me why I should get the 4Matic?
I live in Scottsdale, Arizona and have no plans to ever drive to the snow country. We do have some rain, like in our current monsoon season, but most of the year is dry.
I have read that the steering isn't as sharp in the 4Matic and it costs $2K more than RWD. I would assume there are potentially more service costs with 4Matic and it adds weight to the car.

I had the same concerns here in Vegas...from what I've learned there is no detriment in having 4matic since it was significantly improved since 2012. And in my case the C400 will only come in 4matic...the zero - 60 times are not impaired by 4matic...although that was never a concern of me as I'm not buying to track it....anyway if you're getting the C300 I don't blame you for waiting for the RWD...good luck!!

Slightly lower gas mileage for the 4matic. It does not offer one benefit in the desert environment. If you don't plan on moving up north and you can wait a few months then you can save some money and have a higher mpg by waiting.

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like there are no benefits to me with 4Matic. I'm retired and have no plans to leave Scottsdale. A big part of my life was in the snow country and I have no desire to return.
