It's done by the dealer. It can be done any time, not just at the time of initial delivery. All that is necessary is a heat gun. Some people have talked about doing it at home. I don't know if your wife's hair dryer is hot enough. I have seen warnings NOT to try sawing a badge off by working a thread back and forth under it.

A hairdryer will work as long as the ambient temp isnt too low, just use a credit card, insert it on the left side, then lift on the opposite side with your fingers.
The credit card will prevent the sharp edges from the badge to damage the paint job.

You can also order the car debadged from factory.

Looks good on PW.

It's all good, I could just as easily do it in PS myself as well...I've just been lazy about it.

Once I get the rear spoiler installed I'll take some pics and PS it to see how it would look with the spoiler and de-badged.

I've used dental floss with good results as well (after warming with a hair dryer) just mind the letters digging into the paint as Vic mentioned.

Thanks, have ordered it so hopefully will get done by dealer before delivery. If not will try a heat gun (wife has one for card making and crafting), used it when my PS3 went and worked a treat!

I ordered one in black, but every time I see a white with panoramic roof it makes me second guess my choice...

Very sweet! The tint makes it look that much sportier!
Tint looks dark for NY. You worried about tint tickets?

Same here, keep having regret after I got the car. Wanted to vinyl wrap it white. But today, I went out to lunch, and baby really shines under the sun. My regret is fading away :-) black or white, each has its own beauty. So, enjoy.

Why would you be nicked for having tinted windows? There's no law against it...is there?

In the U.S., laws vary from state to state. I imagine that there might be some states with no tint laws, but many regulate just how deeply you can tint.

lol Yes there is a law against it. People flout it however.

Tinted windows over a certain percentage become hard to see out of. Not being able to see out of your car might be a teeny weeny bit unsafe don't you think? Hence the law. Imagine windows so dark it becomes hard to see out of in the daytime... imaging what that same window shows you at night, nada.

This is why you see factory cars with 'privacy' tints only tint the non driver using windows (from the driver back).

Here's a link with tint law in all 50 States. It gives you an idea of the general law. I can't vouch for this web sites accuracy or currency though. It's better to check the statutes in your state directly.

I think it is more of a concern to law enforcement when approaching a car not to see what the driver's intentions are.
