What is the best clear bra for car protection?

Hi,

I will receive my w205 next week and thinking to protect it with clear bra "headlight, front bumper, hood". what is your recommendation ( 3M Scotchgard or Xpel ultimate)?

Thanks

Here is somewhat convincing test showing that the Scotch 3M might be better

I've heard good reviews about both so I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I'm going straight from the dealer to the installer once I take delivery in November....

Just got through doing that same research and talked to installers who do both. Xpel is the clear winner right now, although the 3M reps who visited one said they had a new film coming which is intended to match/beat Xpel, although timing is not clear. Xpel wins now for its self-healing capability, surface see-thought, lack of coloration, especially over time, and 10 year vs. 5 year warranty from 3M. With either available, I took the Xpel on my newest car for front fascia, head/fog lamps, mirror caps, and demi-hood and front fenders....this is the typical application....for $1,100 installed complete. I often "lose" the edge line in daylight, as it blends so well. With either, be sure to wash and wax across the hood/fenders, not front to rear, so you are never "tripping" the mitt across the edge.

I think this is what we're talking about....what's the negative? Haven't found one so far....unless you're a machine car wash fan.

One more note....I see a white car in your sig....especially don't do 3M on a while car. Xpel has much less yellow component in its film and is less noticeable on a white car. I saw that comparison done.

Can you let us know how it works out? What color vehicle do you have? I'm looking at the White Metallic.

Its just something form the past, Actual hardware that you would attach to the front end that would act as a spoiler/stone deflector. Some were plastic others were actual leather/vinyl that strapped onto the hood.
As far as I know they were called "Bras" its from a long time ago.....in another galaxy

Ah, yes, I remember those. The term has carried over and the film is still referred to by some as a "bra" albeit clear, in some discussions. But, I understand your comment. Thanks!

Im going to do it to my Steel Grey 2014. I have found a few small chips. On the darker car a chip leaves the primer showing underneath. I see these small white spots

3M here in Maryland and about $600

How is your 3M clear bra holding up?

Ive been looking at paint protection but really need the 3M Scotchguard on the bar and even my full bonnet.

Keen to hear yours and any others feedback on their Clear Bra long term review.

Thanks

use touch up paint if you have to. Bra's look ridiculous and leave their own marks. Bad idea!
