Rear fog lights
Sup guys. Just want to confirm that the C class only has single sided rear fog lights. Is that what you car looks like? (left hand drive)

The official explanation is that it so as not to confuse anyone behind you into thinking its the break light.
I figure there is just a bulb to add, wire to attach or fuse to insert

There is a reason for only one fog light. It is brighter than the tail lights and visible, in fog, before you see the tail lights. I have driven, in fog, on the autobahn and was amazed how great the one fog light was. It identifies the left side of the car so there is no confusion on what you are approaching.

Heh.. I have definitely flashed rear fogs before to discourage tailgaters from staying dangerously close behind me, especially when there's no reason to tailgate (e.g., not hogging left lane and already comfortably above speed limit). The rear fogs on my DD look just like the brake lights, except brighter, so they are effective deterrents when needed.
