Clear bra for chrome?

Clear bra for chrome?
I showed my car to my friends and they seem to be concerned about the chrome at bottom of bumper chipping off from freeway rock chips.
Do you guys share that concern? My local shop says clear bra is for paint protection and not chrome. Indicating they won't put it on chrome.

As far as I can tell the bottom "chrome" is actually plastic, along with all the fender chrome pieces. If it chips just replace repaint or replace.

I haven't take delivery...but when checking out the demo I did purposely feel to see if it was metal...and it's not. I would think it could be protected...
