Although it has proven unreliable in the previous B class (W245), mainly due to electronic board failure, perhaps CVT is worth revisiting. No shift work, no delays, very smooth, and theoretically more-efficient around town too.

But yeah, I'm with what the previous guy mentioned...more gears=more shifting/busier tranny

CVTs have no place in luxury cars. Even Audi has given up on them. It is an economy car solution.

You won't notice more shifting if it smoother. The 8HP ZF gearbox is the best thing going and it isn't anywhere near as busy as you might think. That is where programming comes in.
