For those few fortunate to have ordered and received their C, how close was the manufacture time/delivery versus their estimate? This poll obviously doesn't apply to those who got one off the lot or dealer traded. I hear of delays out of SA, and well, everywhere.

 

Was at the dealer yesterday and was told any orders placed now won't be delivered till March as there is a production freeze till December.

 

I wonder if that is due to lack of demand? This will be my first MB so I've got no idea if this is status quo.

 

I believe the plant shuts down in entirety for a week or two for Christmas.

 

When you mean placed now, what production date are you referring to? I ask because I put an order for a car in August, with a production date of Oct 20th. Like when did the freeze start?

 

I was at the dealer on Sat, so Oct 25. Anything placed at that time or going forward would be a late Feb/March delivery date at least. Would be great if someone could confirm this.

Im guessing you got your car by now so congrats! I'm actually quite close to you. I put in my order on the 25th of August. Estimated build date of 20th Oct. But my dealer told this morning that the car is still 'in-production'. Thats some real fast shipping! Mine is supposed to take 1.5 months

 

I saw the MB USA Christmas shutdown is December 24 2014 -January 2, 2015 . Not as long as it's been in some years, they must be selling more than we think.

 

I just got a call from my sales rep, my order will be delayed by 1 month.

Really have my heart set on HUD but I will revisit the options again tomorrow.

 

well my order was placed on Oct 27th for the C400 and I was told the prod date would be Jan 1st 2015... hopefully it does go on 1st

 

I believe your salesman meant first decade of January. January 1st is New Years date and the plant will be closed.

 

Even if they're open, I would never want someone putting my car together the day after New Year Eve.

 

I placed my order for a C300 (1st MBZ for me) and was told it would arrive in January '15.

 

Ordered C300 mid Aug.
Initial build was first 10 days in Nov.
Later changed to Nov 15.
Got call from my sales guy this AM and the car is done.
Hope to have delivery by end of next week.
I am in Atlanta GA so factory is not that far away.

 

Congrats! That's pretty close to on time. Just curious, when did they narrow down from the build decade of first 10 days in November and give you notice of your actual build date?

 

do they have online tracking etc like BMW does?

 

I ordered the 1st week in August...I was given a 1 Oct build date at time of order. My salesman said delivery should be 1st or 2nd week of November...I took delivery 12 Nov....

 

I got the target date of Nov 15 the first week in Oct.

 

Picking car up today at 4pm.

My colleague, who's not into or on the forum, ordered 2 weeks ago, had estimated build timeframe of second decade January, and "official" build date he just got was 1/26. He was told by dealer they seldom vary from this date, once given. Unsure if that's true. Looking at this short poll, seems a week behind the estimated build decade for the build is where the Vance plant has been trending.
