Slow digital manual
Just had my new C class w205 2 days and I'm going thru the printed manual and the on board digital manual. The wait time while it loads pages is painfully slow - anyone else experienced similar? I thought it might be 'first time' use and the pages need to cache but it's not looking that way.
Also, at what temp do the door mirror heaters kick in? Tried it yesterday on quite a cold morning - rear screen ok but no heating of mirrors, handbook says these come on in 'low' temperatures - but how low? Can it be changed?
All answers appreciated. I'm in UK.

I cant find mention of the heated mirrors in the manual. How do you activate them?

Heated mirrors on most cars are linked to the rear window defroster ... it's the same on this car. Turn on the rear defroster and your side mirrors will also defrost.
It's much easier to just use the online manual on your computer or iPad. The car's computer processing speed is slow ... it took me over 30 minutes to download a 110mb CD to the Media Register.

I actually have more than I can fit on the Music Register. Ten GBs isn't enough for music ,videos and photos. I'm going to try to use the SD card so all my files are available in the car.

You can add a portable harddrive (500GB) and connect it to the USB port...I tried it during my test drive...it works fine!

The display did show CD--HDD, but that is jut the target drive, so I'm not sure if it does any compression or conversion of the files.

Yes I realise that the mirror heater circuit is powered at the same time as the hrw, but mine definately did not warm up - the manual says that they operate only at a certain temperature....which is a first in my book - I just wondered what that temp threshold was.

The W205 car and Comand manuals are available online for PC's and Macs. There is also a Mercedes app which brings up all the manuals for current models. You just select the one you want to download from within the app, and it's right there along with some instructional videos. Just search for Mercedes Benz in the App Store.
