C300 Observations and Questions

Just bought a 2015 C300 with Premium 1, Multimedia, and few other options from dealer stock. Got a great price as they had quite a few on the lot and I do not believe they were moving too quickly. Anyway, I was coming from a 2011 GL450 so the difference is dramatic. I was tired of putting $90+ in gas in the GL EVERY WEEK!

In short, I have only had the car 3 days AND I LOVE IT!!!!! I am 6'1" and do not feel cramped at all. The kids fit in the back seat without any issues. Back seats might be a little cramped (behind me) for full sized adults on a long trip - but I didn't get it for the passenger experience.

I am a little frustrated at the lack of a paper manuals but my wife's new MDX is the same way. Sparse manual and everything else is electronic. Which leads me to a few questions I am hoping some of you can help with:

- What is the ASSISTANCE GRAPHIC screen? Is it just there to show me I am driving within the lines? It doesn't change even if I drift.

- What do all of the parts of the ECO Display Circle mean? I see a bunch of green lines with a tire, a gas pedal, and what looks like a scale.

- How do I set up the COMAND to get text messages and emails from my phone? It allows me to download texts but none ever show up and the option to get email I greyed out and says my phone (iPhone 5) is not compatible.

- I have the glossy console and it has fingerprints all over it; granted I am constantly fiddling with everything to see what it does . Anyway, what type of cloth should I use so I do not scratch the console or the screen? Should I be worried the carwash folks may scratch the screen?

So, back to the car. It is quick as heck even being a 300. Would have loved to get the 400 but wanted to get the better gas mileage.

I ended up getting the 6 year/100,000 warranty as there are LOTS of things on this vehicle that can break. Honestly, any upper tier car these days has tons of things to break just like my wife's MDX.

Feel free to ask me any questions about the driving, handling, electronics, etc. and I will try and answer based on my 3 days of owning it.

Congrats on the new set of wheels. The answers to most if not all of your question are in the online manual. Just go to the owners section of mbusa. Its a downloadable PDF. BTW don't try to print it the owners manual by itself is 400 pages.

Unfortunately, the online manual for the C300 is not available - unless I am looking in the wrong place for it.

There is one manual that covers all C series. Go to MBusa , there is a small link on the right side of the page that says owners. On the owners page you can peruse any manual on any mercedes. For the w205 they have the owners and command manuals as PDF files. Trust me its there, I'm half way through it
