traffic sign recognition, clock, 360 camera

I may have ordered about 30 new cars total. Now that I had more time, I researched very assiduously before I ordered and I am running in some surprises.
1, all information about the C400 showed that the car would have the 360 camera. After I ordered I found out that this is not the case. Technical difficulties.
2, testers praise the beautiful clock in the middle console. There is none in my car.
3, traffic sign recognition in the head up display also is not discoverable.
All these features are in German produced c lass.
Does anyone know anything about why all these features are not offered in the US or don create technical difficulties just on this side of the pond?
I would appreciate a feedback.

The analog clock is standard and was in every base and sport model I looked at. I didn't check out the luxury model, so maybe it's not on that one?

I know I have read about some cars coming through without the clock, but I can't remember why. My guess is that it's deleted with some combination of accessories, but best bet is to call your dealer and get an explanation from the salesman.

I have no first hand experience with the HUD, so can't really comment on that.

In Canada, the piano black console does not come with the analogue clock. All other trims have the clock. It is not dependent on the option package you choose.

As far as I know in the US they all have the clock.
In the US the lux package is an oxymoron. Fully loaded it lists for 60K almost the price of a fully loaded c400. In the process you give up 90Hp, better brakes and better handling suspension and the much better looking AMG outside trim. Unless you are buying a plain jane car the C400 is a much better deal.

My UK C 200 Sport does not have the analog clock, do not think it's on any UK version.

Do you have a black gloss or wood trim?

In the UK:
All wood trims in conjunction with automatic transmission will feature an analogue clock in the centre console

Not sure if this applies Stateside though (aware that all US models will be auto)?

I looked at, and drove, US cars with the Piano Black trim. All had the analog clock. This may be yet another one of those things that varies with the selling market.

Car build tool on mbusa.com shows it without the clock on black gloss. With clock on all wood trims. Perhaps they've recently changed it?

One of the cars I test drove before buying my C300 had the Piano Black trim. It definitely had the clock in it. I don't know if that's been changed or not, but that one was an August USA build.

To make it even more confusing, doesn't the Sport Package include the open pore Ash trim? The OP stated he has the Sport Package on his car.

I just looked on a dealer's website here in the US to see actual photos on cars they have on the lot. I saw a regular (non-sport) model with piano black gloss that did NOT have the analog clock. I also saw a sport package version with piano black gloss and it also did not have the analog clock. All versions I saw with wood trim did have the analog clock.

So it seems in the US, having the analog clock is tied to whether or not you have wood trim.

You are right richardamp. My dealer here in NY said that the analog clock is deleted with the piano black gloss interior but the open pore wood gets the clock.

I have the base model - C180 petrol - with external and internal AMG-package. It has quite a lot of the bells and whistles, as it was a dealer demo car. Unfortunately it has the piano-black dash, and no clock.

Piano-black and no analogue clock

Yeti575, thanks for the comment. Would you let me know, what kind of bells and whistles you have there? I see left of the steering wheel a fourth button (from the left) on the dashboard, which I do not have. Is this the famous, miraculous and secretive 360° camera?

From what I can see, it's the Head Up Display on/off

Here's a close-up on mine:

The 6th button is empty, on the S-class it enables Night Vision but it's not available on C-class... yet

Sorry, been afk for a bit. Turt is correct. The fourth button is indeed for turning the Head-up display on-off.
