Dash Cams
AMEN to that! Given the huge popularity of these devices now, and the fact that a lot of cars like this already have more on-board cameras than you can point a stick at, you'd think that manufacturers might start to offer that as an option at least.
Seems like they're still for sale locally here. If my new Blackvue doesn't work out, I may have to switch allegiance

Never gave thought to summer time inside temperatures but 70 seems a bit on the high side.

Well after doing some online research the Koreans seem to be the kings of dash cam manufacturers. Blackvue is well rated and there are tons of YouTube videos. There is a higher model the DR750GW-2CH which has both Full HD front and rear and built in 4x2 LCD screen and still has Wi-Fi. It was a bit thick and bulky looking but it too is not expensive if I recall around $70.00 more. If you could have detached the LCD Screen I would have gone with that in a heartbeat.
I have not modified any of my previous MB (since I lease) but it looked like an easy process and turned out to be just that.
I will just have to leave those cam holder stuck on when I give the car back or take my time and peel them off

. Don't get me wrong - love the dash cams and wouldn't be without one now, but they don't let you catch things like that .. unfortunately.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
The people who have dash cams, do you have a battery backup or anything to keep the camera running whilst park?
One of the reasons I am going a camera, is I have been side swiped in car parks twice in one year in my last car. Dont want to repeat that again.
I will try to get a few snaps of the view of the mounted cams as well as the sight lines from the drive seat and outside the vehicle. Stay tuned :
That's hot. But I assume the cam still works.
I can't imagine that a Dash Cam hard wire install (which is reversible) would void your warrantee.
If you're hooking up a dash-cam with an isolator (i.e. low voltage or timer cut-off relay), make sure that the trigger wire is taken from a circuit that includes reverse voltage or over-voltage protection (e.g. cigarette lighter or 12v consumer outlet). The main power is the least of your worries - and as long as you have it fused correctly is never going to cause any issues.

Can anyone share which fuses they use for the hardwiring? I'm planning to use the fuse box in the trunk.

This is by far, the cleanest setup I can imagine on a car.
Is there any compatible rear-view mirror with the W205 that would, adequately, serve as a power supply/connector?
