Well here I am (from Philadelphia) to join your Mercedes 2015 C-300 Bleeding Seats Party.
My seats are bleeding. And really bad. I can't believe a $50k would do this.
My car is at my dealership right now, but I have not heard from anyone with regard to what exactly will be done, why, and what I can be assured of long term.
See what ya think from these photos from my car.
This is what it looks like when the substance dries.
This is what it looks like when its really cold out. The oil is essentially wet and disgusting.
Went oil. You don't want to sit on this as it leaves marks on your clothes.
WOW!!!!! are you freaking serious?!!!!! That is Terrible, never seen anything like that
Not only have we been experiencing the bleeding issue but a squeaky brake issue as well. Mercedes just replaced the brakes and they squeak as well. This is our second C300 in a row and after this I doubt we will return at the end of the lease. The lack of urgency Mercedes Benz has for its customers is unacceptable. We have only had the car for 2 months. When it is cold out the seats are just plain embarrassing. There is a residue that does effect clothing. Our dealer has told us most of our replacement covers are in with the exception of one piece. How long this will go on for who knows. Hopefully none of you are experiencing the brake issue. It has been recognized as becoming a problem with no correct fix found yet
Never buy C class, you better of with Toyota corolla. C class is a joke

I just wonder how TOXIC it is to human, driving in that car??!!
It's the plasticizer leeching out of the MB-Tex. It affected cars built before 1/5/2015, at which point the material was changed. It is, as far as anyone knows, not toxic and there have only been a handful of reports about it staining clothing.
In affected cars, MB will send a repair kit to the dealer. This involves swapping out the headrests, and re-covering all the seating surfaces. It's about a two day job and, depending on the expertise of the dealer, the results can range from perfect to unacceptable.
It's a very well known issue, and has been discussed extensively here and on other forums. At this point, it's pretty much of a dead issue, so I'm not sure why it's being brought up again. There have been no recent reports of the problem that I'm aware of.
I thought my GLK had the dreaded MBtex problem as it was turning white in some places. I tried using Lexol leather cleaner and it disappeared. I guess it is got to do with the excessive body and hand lotion usage. It doesn't matter whether it is from Crabtree and Evelyn, Victoria Secret or B&BW.
