how do you get all this? Man on the inside? I use your guides regularly lol
The WIS documents i have were saved when the mb-wis.net site was online. I saved as much as i could for w205 before it disappeared.
The docs on posts #179 - 181 can be found on the NHTSA site. Google search to find any recall ids and use the search by NHTSA id feature to locate. The mercedes benz "how to fix" pdf is usually attached.
You can also search "compliants by keyword" (try brakes) and get a nice read of all the MB customers who are having similar issues with their mercedes brakes.
That NHTSA makes it really hard to properly search for info.

I'm a web developer...want to me host them somewhere??
I recently bought my 2018 CPO C300 Sport and I have the same issue. Car has just over 10,000 miles. I just installed a set of EBC Red front pads. I have used them on all of my sports cars (several different makes and models) with very good results. I’ll report back after a get a few early morning cold starts backing out of my garage.
if this cures it, we will know for sure that it’s the pads and not the rotors. I expect this is the case, but you never know. FWIW this was THE easiest brake pad R&R I have ever encountered. It was about a 30 min job at a relaxed pace.

I used to run EBC reds as well, I'm interested to hear (literally) how this works. Glad to hear it's an easy job, most of the stuff I've done on my C400 has been easy.
After the install yesterday I had the car out for a couple of hours running errands. The EBC Reds feel just as capable under medium to hard braking, but not quite as “Grabby” as the OEM pads (I have the oversized calipers of the sport model). I am very pleased with the performance of these pads.
This morning temps in the 20s and snowing. I backed the car out for a short drive and there’s not even a hint of brake noise. So far so good.

it needs to be very cold and dry for the screeching.
I think MB brake noise season might already be over for this year.
Just backed the car out in 19 degrees outside. No screech whatsoever. I have seen enough to be convinced that the EBC pads are the answer. For those who want to try it just remember to clean the old pad residue off your rotors. I did so with a light scuff using 800 grit wet/dry paper and then cleaned with brake cleaner. I ordered the pads from Summit Racing.
They're squeaking again, heh. This is third set of pads including the originals and second set of rotors. They've got one more shot before I lemon law this car.

see above. I haven’t screeched once since swapping to EBC reds. And I live in Denver where it’s still cold.
I also have this on my C400. It happens the very first time I lightly brake (which for me is always in reverse after an overnight stay). I'm curious to hear what the dealer says to you.
Exactly same here on my C400. I've tried diff brake pads but was soon as they wear in it squeals just awful

I lease and am not willing to pay to make a problem go away that shouldn't exist. My dealer "has no updated parts" to use so they won't do anything further and I just have to live with it until December when the lease is up. "The Best or Nothing" <eye roll> So after my lease I'm going with the "nothing" part of their moto.
